I got some publication news, which I should’ve announced weeks ago. For various reasons, though, I only got around to it now. However, to make up for my slowness, I have, for the first time, two publications to announce.
Firstly, Stupefying Stories have chosen to publish another piece of mine called “The Sky Will Fall” as part of their Pete Wood drabble competion. Saddly, though, they will likely stop running the competition for now.
The publication date has yet to be announced, but I will make sure to update my bibliography as soon as the story is out.
Secondly, I had a story accepted in the yearly Danish SF anthology Lige Under Overfladen (Just Beneath The Surface) just as I had last year. There’s no publication date yet, either, but the anthology usually comes out in the fall in time for the major Danish book festival.
Sadly, the editor of the anthology, for all the 19 years it has been running, passed away shortly after acceptances had been sent out. It seems there are people taking over this year’s publication, but I do fear the anthology might die with him.

If both stories are published this year, which I think they will be, that makes it four publications in 2024 for me. Three drabble/flash pieces (two at SFWA pro rates) and a longer short story in Danish.
Considering I never had more than one story published in a given year before, that’s not bad at all. Stupefying Stories account for three of those publications, though, so with their Pete Wood challenge closing down, I don’t expect next year will prove as fruitful.
