Sad News In Short Fiction Publishing

I was preparing this months short story recommendations, which included trying to get through the massive backlog of Daily Science Fiction (DSF) stories in my inbox, when some truly sad new hit me.

The editors of DSF have spoken openly about how much time and energy goes into running the magazine and how tough it has been lately. However, it was hard to imagine that DSF, who with 12 years behind it can almost be considered ancient in the world of online publishers, would seize to put out new stories. But that is what happened

The magazine has not seized to exists and will still put out stories for the rest of the year, but after that it will go into hiatus which may or may not be temporary.

While I can sympathize with the editors, I hope with all of my heart that the magazine will return. DSF has been one of my absolute favorite magazines for years. It was the first magazinesI started reading on a regular basis, and it was one of the first magazines that published my stories. I am not sure I would be where I am in my writing career without them.
