A heads up for anyone with an interest in speculative fiction. Voting for the Locus Award, one of the major awards within fantasy, science fiction, and horror, is open until April 15th.
Anyone can vote, and, no, you don’t have to have read every story already listed. You don’t even have to vote for any of them. They’re the Locus recommended reading list, but there are options to write in and vote for stories not on the list.
You can vote for publications or works that first appeared, anywhere in the world, during calendar year 2019. Yes, I do have one story that was published in Daily Science Fiction that fits that bill, but that’s not why I’m posting this. There are so many good stories and magazines out there, and they deserve some recognition.
Big names like N.K. Jemisin, Ken Liu, and Ted Chiang are on some of the lists, as are some excellent up-and-coming writers and fellow Codex members like G.V. Anderson and S.L. Huang.
If nothing else, the Locus recommended reading list is great way of finding interesting stories you might have missed during the year that passed.
